The Wilf Ward Family Trust's 5 bedroom Bempton Holiday Villa at The Bay Filey is carefully adapted to cater for the needs of all visitors.

Built to the highest specification, including wheelchair accessible bedrooms, 2 with ceiling tracking and hoists, leading to en-suite wet rooms with shower tables. The accommodation has a through floor lift to ensure full access to the whole of the property and will feature the very latest Care Assist wireless support giving complete peace of mind for both users and carers alike.

The Bay boasts a spacious development of wide boulevards and mews style cul-de-sacs that feature attractive properties reflecting the elegance of a traditional seaside village. There is also a bistro pub, a coffee bar, pharmacy and a leisure and pool complex is planned.

The property itself has been designed by acclaimed architects and is built to the highest standards, making use of natural light and space and providing modern amenities whilst retaining traditional interior values.

Facilities

The villa has been designed by acclaimed architects to ensure all your accessibility needs are catered for. There is level entry from the road to the property and you can charge your scooter at the charging point in the porch. The doorways are all 2' 10" wide with raised power points throughout the property. You can relax in the secure garden area accessed via the ground floor terrace and there are no radiators to contend with as all the heating is underfloor and thermostat controlled.

Bedrooms

2 of the 5 bedrooms are single bedrooms with en-suite wet-rooms one of which is on the ground floor, with 2 Beaucare profiling beds in each room. The other 3 bedrooms are twin/double on the first floor, accessed by an internal lift that is wide enough for 6 people and has an alarm call phone. All the bedrooms are tastefully decorated with flat screen TVs in each bedroom, smoke detectors, mini fridge facilities and a further electric profiling bed in 1 of the twin rooms. Hoists and ceiling tracking from the bedroom to the en-suite bathrooms are available on both floors.

Bathrooms/Wet-rooms

There are 2 wet-rooms/1 family bathroom in the villa, 1 on each floor. (Family bathroom on first floor). Both wet-rooms are fitted with fold up shower tables and non-slip floors, electric shaver points in both en-suites AND bathrooms and all towels and linen are provided free of charge. The bathroom is fully equipped with thermostatic valves to all shower taps which are quarter turn level type.

Lounge/Kitchen

Guests will enjoy mealtimes in a modern kitchen designed to give a real home-from-home feel, with wheelchair adapted kitchen area and split level work tops with sinks. There is a washer dryer, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave oven and a electric induction hob (pacemaker users please see our website for safety guidelines). All cutlery and crockery are provided and are at accessible height.

The lounge is very spacious and is wheelchair friendly throughout, thanks to floors that are compatible with wheelchair requirements. The villa has broadband connection throughout, Ipod docking stations and DVD/CD players. Enjoy peace of mind thanks to 24 hr security on site, emergency lighting and a care assist system (wireless assisted support).

The Landeez

All terrain wheelchair beech buggy – to enable access onto the beech. The Landeez all-terrain and beach wheelchair was designed specifically to enable people who use wheelchairs to come in closer contact with nature. The Landeez can roll easily over sand, snow, and gravel. Its soft plastic pneumatic tires absorb almost all road shocks for a remarkably comfortable ride.

Transportation available for leisure outings during your stay. The Little Red Bus network plays a major role in the integration and co-ordination of community and public transport in North Yorkshire.
