3 Bungalows In A Ten Acre Site of Pure Yorkshire!

Rod and Peggy would like to welcome you to South Newlands Farm,located on the edge of the picturesque and peaceful village of Riccall. Here our philosophy is to provide excellent holiday accommodation for all ages and abilities. Rated 4* accommodation and Mobility Level 3 by VisitBritain, we offer 3 self catering bungalow cottages newly on our own 10 acre site as well as limited availability for caravans and tents and even space for a helicopter to land should you wish to arrive in style! We have accommodation facilities for nearly 30 years and during this time many customers have become friends. We pride ourselves on making guests feel at home and the kettle is often on the boil and plenty of laughter is always welcome. You will also find the village of Riccall provides virtually all the amenities you will need during your stay at South Newlands Farm and it is also a great Central point for visiting the Moors, Dales and Coast which is only approximately 1 hour away!

Disabled Friendly

As mentioned we have been rated Mobility Level 3 by VisitBritain. The bungalow cottages offer many advantages to guests in a wheelchair, elderly guests and those with mobility difficulties. All on the ground level, there is ample wheelchair access, a wet room and all rooms are generously proportioned. We are also able to put you in touch with other specialist suppliers should you need something that we do not provide as standard. There is ample private car parking and local pubs and restaurants nearby. If there is anything you need just ask! We will do our best to help.

Self Catering Cottages

We have 3 self catering cottages, each designed with your comfort and enjoyment in mind, and built to the highest quality standards. Each cottage is spacious and well equipped and are located in our quiet rural area allowing convenient access to extensive and safe private grounds. Within each cottage there are 3 bedrooms (doubles and twins to suit), the master bedroom has its own en-suite facility as well as a separate private bathroom. The large lounge includes a TV, DVD and Stereo, a fully equipped kitchen including dishwasher and gas cooker. Washing facilities are also available on-site. There is gas central heating throughout the relaxing rooms and all towels and linen are provided for you. There is a seating area outside, where during the summer our guests can relax within the private garden.

Bed & Breakfast

We have 4 private rooms for our Bed and Breakfast guests, each one having its own en-suite facilities and a traditional Yorkshire breakfast is served around the farmhouse table and prepared with local produce. These rooms are not suited for wheelchair users but for those with some mobility and the elderly. You can choose to relax quietly or share time with us or maybe other guests. Our Courtyard and patio areas provide a lovely setting to sit and talk over a drink in the summer as does the large, warm, cosy conservatory when the nights grow shorter and colder. All this makes South Newlands an ideal base to explore Yorkshire.
Situated just off the A19 between York and Selby, South Newlands is an ideal base if you want to visit the Yorkshire Dales, Moors, Wolds or Coast.

South Newlands is an ideal base to visit Yorkshires wonderful attractions and famous destinations. Famed for its heritage, York is only 15 minutes drive away and there is a regular bus service from the village. The stunning Abbey in the local town of Selby is even closer and from here there is a regular train service to Leeds, the perfect place for theatre, art and shopping. If you are keen to explore the outdoors, you will be spoilt for choice with the two National Parks, both within one hours drive. Whether you are driving, walking or cycling, a visit to the Yorkshire Dales, Yorkshire Moors and Wolds are a must and in addition to these there are famous attractions such as the world of James Herriot in Thirsk, Castle Howard Nr Malton and the Yorkshire air museum near york which all make for a great day out. You can also visit Yorkshire’s wonderful coastline where the beaches, wildlife and celebrated hamlets such as Robin Hood’s Bay are all accessible and a trip to Scarborough, Bridlington or Whitby is always good fun.

The local village itself offers a range of amenities including two pubs, shops, a post office, regular bus service to York and Selby, a doctors surgery, a beautiful ancient parish church and even a fabulous Indian restaurant. Riccall is also ideal for children as it has its own park which includes excellent play facilities and a large purpose-built skateboard ramp. Every December hundreds of people return to ponder, pick and ultimately choose their favourite Christmas tree and you are welcome to join them! We also organise our own private firework party around Guy Fawkes night in November. There really is something for everyone here!!
