Our Disabled Friendly, Accessible Lodges

We have six extremely warm and cosy lodges which have been built to the very highest standards. They all have covered verandahs which allows for breathtaking views of the valleys and surrounding scenery. Three of our lodges, detailed below have been designed for wheelchair users and those with mobility difficulties.

Laburnum

Laburnum lodge has up to M2 mobility access and can sleep up to 6 people. The car park is accessible to wheelchair users and there is also a ramp at the side of the lodge for easy access.

The lodge has a wide door that leads into the open plan kitchen and living area where there is plenty of room for you and your family or friends to relax and unwind.

The main bathroom has a shower over the bath and a toilet while the main twin bedroom has an en-suite wet room with shower and toilet with grab rails and a wheel in shower chair. The twin beds can be locked together if necessary.

Laburnum Lodge has three very spacious and very cosy bedrooms with ample space to manoeuver a wheelchair in the twin and double bedrooms and sumptuous double beds for a great night's sleep.

**Only the twin bedroom with en-suite and the double bedroom are wheelchair accessible.

Cherry Tree Lodge

Cherry Tree Lodge also overlooks the beautiful slopes of Exmoor and can be accessed either by two steps onto the veranda, or by a ramp which is at the side of the lodge. There are double doors into the living room with plenty of width for a wheelchair. The living room and kitchen are open plan so accessibility for a wheelchair is no problem. The bathroom has a pull down support by the side of the toilet, plus a grab handle the other side. There is a bath in this bathroom with a shower attachment, plus grab handles and bath seat. The double bedroom has an en-suite shower room (which is not accessible to a wheelchair) although both the double and the twin room come with sufficient space to operate a wheelchair.

Holly Lodge

Holly is our largest lodge which can sleep up to 10 people. It is all on one level and comes with a ramp and double door which opens into the kitchen and living area. The bathroom comes complete with pull down support by the side of the toilet, a grab handle on the wall and sufficient space to manoeuver a wheelchair. There is also a wheel in shower room with shower wheelchair and also has a pull down seat if needed and a grab handle. There are four cosy bedrooms, one with en-suite bathroom. Both double bedrooms have space for a wheelchair.

Self-Catering Holiday Complex in Somerset

This is a small self catering holiday complex with the holiday accommodation spaced to allow a level of privacy while still giving the benefits of having help at hand and additional facilities. There is a fully equipped laundry room on site, together with a children's play area, putting green and indoor games room with a full size table tennis table, a pool table and table football.

At the heart of one of England’s most beautiful regions, Woodcombe Lodges is ideally placed for the glorious countryside of Exmoor National Park, the Quantock Hills and the North Devon coastline. At the same time, Minehead with its seafront, harbour and wide range shops, pubs, restaurants and local bus services is only 1 ½ miles away.
Approaching Minehead from the east on the A39, go straight ahead at the first roundabout outside the town. At the next (mini) roundabout take the left fork signed Porlock/Lynmouth (A39).

Follow this road round Minehead for 11/2 miles until reaching a major junction with a right turn back towards Minehead centre signed ‘A39 Minehead’. Turn right here, and after about half a mile take the first turning left into Woodcombe Lane.

Follow this road which becomes Bratton Lane, and then narrows to a country lane. The entrance to Woodcombe Lodge is then the third (and last) driveway on the right.
