Disabled Friendly

We passionately believe that everyone deserves a Pollaughan Farm holiday, including our disabled guests, which is why we designed 2 very stylish, luxurious cottages, Willows and Meadows, both detached with their own gardens and all on one level so no steps or stairs, both are Nationally Accredited to M2 Level. Need to hire mobility equipment? No worries; we have shower chairs here but hoists and electric beds we don't keep ourselves but we know a man who can! Simply notify us at the time of booking and we will put you in touch so you can sort your personal requirements.

Willows has been reconfigured in Jan 2014. It has a wet room that is carefully planned for ease of use and has a generous contained wet floor shower area with glass screen which can be used by someone in a shower chair. Please note it does not have clear space for transfer direct from wheelchair to the side of the toilet, but has grab rail etc so better suited to someone who can stand and take a few steps.

A stunning outlook and sense of peace awaits you when you enter this beautifully restored barn, sleeping 6.Its light and spacious and has gorgeous views over the wildlife lake from all windows, the patio doors and the garden. Its fully centrally heated and double glazed and gives you bags of space inside with three bedrooms and two bathrooms, one of which is an accessible en-suite. Each of those three bedrooms has a 6ft or twin-bed option, and the equipment and facilities throughout are as you'd expect in a cottage of this quality, complemented by a fantastic south-facing view (over the lake and fields) and a safely-fenced level garden, with patio, and lawn and garden furniture. The kitchen is as equipped as your home kitchen, including separate oven and hob, dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge freezer, microwave and extensively equipped to ensure chores can be kept to a minimum.

We think showers should be powerful, hot and relaxing and you just can't do that in a tardis style cubicle, so we have a lovely open wet room that is very wide and spacious for any wheelchair or scooter.

It's the sense of peace when you arrive at Meadows that sets the scene for your holiday. Sleeping 6,patio doors from the garden into the living space with its cosy wood burner, and everything you need for a really homely holiday. Underfloor heating throughout means no radiators to contend with and In our kitchen, you will find a dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge freezer, microwave and separate oven and hob ensure chores can be kept to a minimum. The safely fenced garden with patio and lawn and garden furniture is a safe haven for the kids while you relax inside or out.... The other entrance enters the end of a long hallway where you'll find plenty of coat hooks and space for clobber tucked out of the way, a small utility room with washer and tumbler, two of the bedrooms and a huge ,very accessible family bathroom with large wet shower area. The family bathroom is huge... big enough to party in (so we are told!) or at least you can stick all the kids in at once with its large wet floor shower area and giant shower head, you will be wheeling in and out in no time. The other bedroom and en-suite are at the other end of the cottage with a whirlpool bath.

Meadows has a larger wet room with clear space to one side of the toilet and a completely open wet shower area with no screens so fine for those who cannot weight bear at all ans are completey wheelchair dependent .

The woodburner adds a touch of winter cosiness for those that want to hear the crackle of a fire on wintry evenings!

Pollaughan Farm Holidays

Willows and Meadows Cottage have been thoughtfully planned and beautifully furnished, to enable anyone to enjoy a holiday here. Level access, open plan layouts with wooden floors and colourful, very spacious Wet- Room Showers mean they can be used easily by everyone, are great for Toddlers, but also those with reduced mobility and Wheelchairs users will find them very accessible indeed.

Thing is, we know how good a Pollaughan Farm holiday is: we don’t just want lots of people to have holidays here, we passionately believe holidays like this should be possible for as many people as possible.

**We have won the South West Accessibility award and are inspected  in the National scheme to M2 in Meadows and awaiting a grading in Willows but will be M1 or M2.

There’s quiet seclusion for couples; those looking for safe, non-stop activity and fun for young children will find what they crave; and we’re proud of the properly-planned, beautifully-executed (and nationally-recognised) designs which make WILLOWS and MEADOWS accessible for those with limited mobility or a disability.

Activities / Out and About

We are very close to the picturesque harbourside villages of Portscatho and St Mawes, so you're never far from the water here: whether that means safe sandy beaches and secluded coves, some of the southwest coast path's loveliest stretches or a big blue playground just made for sailing, windsurfing, kayaks and canoes, all of which you can sample and hire close by, there are just so many ways to enjoy the beautiful tree-lined creeks and byways that connect Falmouth with Truro.Truro is just 25 minutes away and Eden and Heligan within 45 minutes..
