No app is truly safe. BeReal’s biggest risk is location sharing, which is on by default. It can broadcast your child’s exact location.
Photos also show their private environment. Supervise them, turn off location services, and vet their friend list. Your oversight is non-negotiable.
It seems safer, and in many ways it is. I saw this with my nephew. The 2-minute warning can create ‘panic snaps,’ though. He once posted a photo with his school planner visible in the background!
